Location

Kelantan is widely known as the most religious states in Malaysia. Apart from its strong Islamic influence, the state has much more to offers, from cultural museums to nature activities and of course beautiful white sandy beaches.

Overview

Pantai Bisikan Bayu (Beach of Whispering Breeze) located at Kota Bahru, the capital of Kelantan, is amongst the popular beaches in Kelantan. Other includes Pantai Cahaya Bulan (Moonlite Beach) and Irama Island Bachok (Pantai Irama Bachok). It is also known as Pantai Dalam Rhu, which is just 50km drive south to Kota Bahru. As its name implies, when the gentle breeze rustle the trees along the beach, making the gentle hush-hush sound, which some says sounds like a soothing whisper.

For surfers, a good time to hit the beach is from November to April during the North-East Monsoon. The each is rather crowded during school holidays and long weekends. Other attractions in Kota Bahru include museums and nature walk. It also has long history of palaces. The Grand Palace (Istana Balai Besar) which are situated by the river bank are among the oldest palace around, was built back in 1844. There are a few popular Kelantan Hotel among visitors, example, Renaissance, Royal Guest House and New Pacific Hotel. Most hotels come with basic necessity and are situated in the Kota Bahru town.

Transport

It's situated near Semerek, Pasir Puteh, which is about 50 km south from Kota Bahru town. From Kota Bahru town, get on to a taxi and it will take a journey of 45 minutes. Alternatively, you can board a bus from the main terminal in Kota Bahru in bus No.3 to Pasir Putih and then take bus No.96 to Kuala Besut.
